GTA's Finest French Class

Our programs are all goal oriented to achieve a desired result. Think about the main reason that is motivating you or your child to take a French course.

  • Academic goals: is your goal academic, you wish to improve your marks in school or
    university?
  • Leisure goals: Is it leisure oriented, you wish to develop your grammar or pronunciation
in French for travel or personal reasons?
  • Professional goals: do you wish to use French to expand your career or meet a job
    requirement?

There is two ways: (1) self-evaluate your understanding, speaking, and writing, using the self-
assessment grid. In addition, your teacher (tutor) will set a 15-minute meeting to evaluate your
French skills more closely.

Learning a language and speaking a language are two different skills. Your child is most likely
learning a lot of vocabulary and grammar rules in class. However, he/she is not having enough
time to practice this knowledge or put it into practice. Living in an anglophone environment,
does not make this easier, especially if the school is not enforcing the use of French in recess or
during class (while interacting with peers). Listening to French programs and songs at home,
reading French books and enrolling in French conversation classes after school should allow
your child to improve their French skills.
